The Sherburn Craft & Food Festival has taken various measures to ensure that we are catering to anyone who may need disabled facilities and access. Our aim is to ensure that everyone who attends the festival is having an enjoyable experience that they will remember and wish to return in future years. This page is a helpful guide to assist any disabled attendees to plan their visit to the festival.
Disabled users will have prime parking at the event for accessibility reasons. This parking will be at the Eversley Park Centre, which is where the festival will be held. The parking is for Blue Badge owners only with approx. 50 spaces available each day. This excellent location is right on the doorstep of the festival and just a two-minute walk from the village centre where other activities will be happening. Anyone who has pre-purchased their tickets and has their wristband will be fast-tracked through into the event.
Parking Address: Eversley Park Centre, Low Street, Sherburn In Elmet LS25 6BA
The main festival is being held on the Eversley Park Field. The land which is festival is being held on is a grassed area which is mostly flat land and would be suitable for wheelchair users (assuming no major adverse weather conditions). Due to the large size of the site, there will also be adequate space for wheelchairs to move around freely.
If you wish to travel to the village, there are plenty of sizeable paths, which again are relatively flat and very easy for wheelchair users. If you are travelling up to the Church from the Sherburn village centre traffic lights, please note there is a slight hill. We also recommend that you use the right-hand path, as it is larger than the path at the left of the road and will be much easier for wheelchairs to use.
The Eversley Park Centre will house the competiton area; this has a flat entrance allowing easy access for disabled users, it is also spacious inside allowing for easy movement around the building. Some of the paths in Sherburn in Elmet may be slightly uneven. However, all areas of the village should be passable with a wheelchair.
You will find several toilets with disabled access throughout the event. The field will have several accessible toilets, which will be marked up and visible. The Eversley Park Centre, which is a community building near the parking area also has an accessible toilet inside. Other areas of the village also have toilet facilities as well, including the Elmete Social Club, the Sherburn Methodist Church and the All Saints Church Hall.
If you require any form of medical assistance during the event, we have St Johns Ambulance on hand at the Eversley Park Field during the festival. You can visit their stand to seek any help you may require; alternatively, they will also be patrolling the field during all three event days.
