Involvement with the festival
Hog & Beyond are proud to be lead sponsors of the first food and craft festival in Sherburn in Elmet. Not only do they have a fantastic menu of street food dishes for you to enjoy over the bank holiday, but they also have their Master Curer Chris Battle joining them. He has over 50 years experience in butchery and bacon curing, they still use his original cure he developed decades ago, based on a family recipe from nearly a century ago. He will be on their stall offering bacon curing demonstrations and talking through the process; offering top tips for any bacon enthusiasts.
What it means to support a local event like this.
All of their bacon and gammon on the Hog & Beyond stall is hand cured at our site in Sherburn in Elmet using higher welfare British Pork. They, also air dry our bacon and naturally smoke over wood chips for a rich and authentic flavour. They then take this local produce, celebrating artisan craftsmanship, and overlay global flavours.
